Inoculation

Found you shuffling down the hall
You see me … “Sheila Grimes” you call
They’re mean … needles aimed at me
You say … alarmed … profanity
Goodness Mother … tell me all
In my mind … words … recall
Flu season … time … inoculate
You forgot … my articulate
We talked of what needed done
Agreed … from … everyone
So now … anger in your eyes
You forgot … not surprised
Short-term memory … surmised
Talk it out … my head is thinking
Holding tears … my eyes are blinking
Sweet angels … nurses … got it done
Heartfelt thanks … everyone!

Bald Tires

Bald tires screeching to a halt
Skidding to a stop not your fault
Treads worn off … rubber’s bare
Time to buy … a brand new pair
Hard to find what pleases you
Lately … not too hard to do
Short term memory … yahoo
Now … motoring … along
Cronies screeching to a halt
Couldn’t be the tread … oops
Your … fault!

Animal Mimics

Quiet like a mouse
Moody in the house.

Nibble this and that
Kind of like a cat.

Hopping like a rabbit
Or shuffle…it’s a habit.

Chirping like a bird
Or so …I’ve heard.

Singing to the sky
Like the Eagles cry.

Busy like a bee
Nosey as can be.

Nature Walk

There you go
Walking the lawn
In your little red coat
From dusk to dawn.

You walk and ponder
And shuffle around
Gathering treasures
From the ground.

The birds are chirping
High in the sky
They think it’s summer
But, winter is nigh.

The breezes gust
Blowing leaves around
You continue your journey
With treasures you’ve found.

Hip Hip Horray! Laundry Day!

You love to do your laundry
Brings pleasure to your day
Gathering clothes to wash
And dry…hip hip hooray!

You rummage thru your dresser
And bring out clean ones too
Your nose gives a sniff
Yeah! More…to do!

You chatter and toss
The clothes in the wash
Then suds in the tub
Rub-a-dub-dub!

It’s SHUFFLE  TIME!
For…awhile
You’re in…you’re out
Wearing down the tile!

When day’s work is over
Satisfaction…I see
It’s been rewarding
That’s…the…key!

Shuffle Along

No way I can’t hear you coming, your shuffle gives you away.
You shuffle dance all through the house, you’re easy to find, I must say.

Shuffle here, shuffle there, shuffle, shuffle, everywhere
Must be a tune playing in your head, do you shuffle dance when you go to bed?

Watching you shuffle as you go along, whistling a happy song
Reminds me of years ago, you’d do housework and sing a long.

So now I smile when you shuffle along, I’m thinking you’re keeping time
Dancing down all those streets, that are lingering in your mind.

Whispers Of Time – Part 2 of 5

So why have the time at all?  And why give to others that which you will forget in days ahead?  I ponder these questions and still ponder more.  I could be quite depressed, and how would that help my situation?  I dare say,  to be sad and feel lonely, is that not how a depressed person acts or is?  she seems sad and lonely, so she must be depressed,   and yet I see a glimmer of light in her eyes,  at times, and I choose to enhance those times and enjoy her moments of joy, for soon comes the sad and lonely person again to reside for a spell.  So, I shall wait for the sign of the light in her eyes and enjoy her once again.   I have decided that  a  small precious amount of time is worth the wait.

Go away pouncing, prancing feline  friend Snoopy, now is not the time to frolic.  The sad and depressed one is here and she needs  her space to just be.  To be what, you say?  Well, I’m not sure, but we’ll keep her in our sights, safe and sound.  And then, when the glimmer returns to her eyes, we will have the joy  of the moment, however long it lasts, then you can frolic.

You shuffle and  putter  around, looking for you know not what.  You care not why you shuffle, but I know why, and it grieves me.   I watch you, unnoticed, to care for  you.  You cannot see what I see, and you cannot  know what I know of your time.   You are in a different time and place, even though we share the same time and space.  You ponder where your thoughts wander, can I go?  I do not like to wait for you to return to the now.  Soon I shall see the glimmer in your eyes, and you will recall the here and now, and I shall enjoy   your company, if only for awhile.
