Saw you sitting on the floor
My heart skipped a beat
You refused help up
You crawled …stood on two feet.
Obviously …sore all over
Your pride’s intact
Pain in your neck
And hip and back.
Later, you’ve no knowledge
This happened to you
You don’t deny the pain
The pills may see you thru.
A warm moist cloth to neck
And “ANNIE GET YOUR GUN”
We’ll get this discomfort
Hopefully … on the RUN!

Yes, mom was outside looking for the singers she heard in her head, came in and fell. She’d been walking on wet grass. It was awful seeing her sitting on the floor yelling for me: Sis Sis! Loren and I tried to help her, but no! She got up herself. No obvious fractures. Warm moist heat to her neck (she has spinal stenosis and has neck pain frequently).
Words heard long ago
So true and yet forgotten
In this world of selfishness
So much said is rotten.
Pride leaves a heart with sadness
Kindness gives a heart a glow
Pride comes out to wrestle
Kindness gives to a foe.
Pride keeps all to self
Kindness gives … another’s woe
Pride is left …a broken heart
Kindness gets … twas bestowed.

You are selfish like a child
Attention is your middle name
It haunts me why this is so
I gotta let this go.
You need to have that attention
For your safety and my piece of mind
You keep my hands tied, I struggle free
To save your pride, and dignity.
Pride is something that ‘s hurtful to others
To always to have your own way
But I see reluctance on your part
Or I’m hopeful for a better day.
Hard to tell, with tears in my eyes
Why you can’t let things go
Let’s meet half way and happy be
But there’s that pride and dignity.
