A journey in time with Alzheimer's

Finished my #2 book from Alzheimer’s Trail.  Entitled:  Alzheimer’s Trail … birds eye view.  It’s been hard focusing, but persistence won.  Hoping to have it ready to order within the week (self published/createspace.com/ order from http://amazon.com/ ).  Also in kindle (eBooks).  I miss writing, I’m hooked sharing my thoughts with you.  Publishing these poems is helping to heal.  The journey  with Mother was challenging and tiring.  It’s taking me time to recover, I was so focused, driven, caring for her and letting my stress out in writing the poems.   I had to get kick started!  Even took an 8 week computer course to help, it’d been 2 years since the first book was published and I forgot so much of the process.  If I were a rich woman (as Mother would say), I’d definitely hire help, but since I’m not, I’ll muddle through!   I was so blessed being able to care for my Mom.  I miss her awful, but I know she’s not suffering anymore.  So, I’ll finish putting my poems/prose in books, #3 almost done and #4 (a work in progress).  That will put me with a year and a half left to put into a final book (or two).

As always, I owe you my heartfelt thanks for reading ME!

Caring is sharing/sg

Smiley face

Morning madness … be gone
Sad countenance … move on
Smiley face … chase blues away
Spirits lifted … thru the day
No matter how or why blue
Attitudes … choices
Made by … you.

When I think of my Mother, it’s her smiley face I miss most of all.

Always again

Spring is here … again
Birds flying high … again
Bees buzzing … again
Flowers blooming … again
Grass green … again
Blue skies … again
Miss times gone … again
Wondering why … again
In my heart … I know
Your time … to go
Thank you Mom … again
For loving me … always.

Working on #2 book from Alzheimer’s Trail blog.  It’s challenging.  I’m hopeful it’ll be finished in a few weeks.  I need to put all my poems in books to move on.  Thanks for reading.  I am better.

Tears away

Sensing whispers from the sky
Silent breezes … passing by
Forward … march … tranquility
Backward flips … not reality
Life’s setbacks … challenge all
Bringing changes … overhaul
Staring back … long … hard
Heart’s heavy … feelings wired
Memories flood … tears away
Miss you Momma … every day!

Loving Georgia

You saw my face …  today
No memories came your way
But I know your heart knows me
Just like I know … air is free
There’s nowhere I’d rather be
Than with you … most definitely
Regardless … the reality.

Angelic soul

Saw an angel … sleeping …  today
Soft white hair …  in a pillow lay
Curled up snug … no cares … no woes
Why dementia … only heaven knows
No worry lines … in her sweet face
Stress relieved … by God’s grace
Someone’s … Mom … someone’s … friend
Someone’s … Auntie … someone’s … kin
Bidding time … nowhere special to be
A precious sight … we all agree
Kindness is free … treat her … tenderly
Paramedics came … to take her home
Back to … where they … care for her
Picked up  gently … not a stir
Smiles … all around … a sigh or two
Moment of sweetness … in a hectic  day
Angelic soul … sent our way.

Windy day

Blistering sunshine … why the wind
Please …  control the state you’re in
Beautiful sunny day … but it’s cold
Now mind you …  not trying to scold
Warmth of the sun …  appeals to me
Surely you’ll calm wind’s rolling sea
Silence the rumble … police the roar
Nudge the cold … out the door
Return a calm … warm … sunny day
Nature’s best … Gods bouquet!

Yappy smiles

Picture a smile …  both ends spread far
No return smiles … sadness … ajar
All day long … no happy to see
How dreary a world … that would be
Now take that …  same smile
Spread it …. far …  and … wide
Contagious … return smiles … won’t hide
In time … others will join … the happy
Oodles ‘n oodles smile ‘n get yappy!

How long

Wind to my face … eyes gazing high
Lifting my blues … to the skies
Casting shadows … sadness … away
Lingering … how long … will it stay
How long … till it hurts … no more
Till my heart … triumphs ‘n scores
Dear God … stay nigh … my prayer
Heart free from grief … blues snare.
