Where is Sis … why not here
She would have told me … so
Mother said … in my … ear
Seems her Doctor … worked with me
In hospital … many years … ago
He mentioned to Mother … but
His words made no sense … so
In her head … bits ‘n pieces glued
Out came … scenario … brewed
She’s persistent … thinks I’m sick
I’m Sheila Grimes … I am OK
Do you need … a resume?
I’m Sis … really … it’s true
She looked at me … irrelevant
Alzheimer’s … stew!

even in ‘normal’ old age the mind plays tricks on what you think you see and hear and events that happened, so with an illness like Al it is even harder to get things straight as they should be…it must take a lot of patience on your side of the conversation and also a lot of hurt that you feel. You are a brave fighter Sheila Grimes and as Ray says they, and I and we are all very proud of you
