Smothering succotash … what’s sup
Which end of the spoon or the cup
Used to … take nourishment up
What happened … why? how?
Just dip the spoon … eventually
Food … will follow … hopefully
Down the hatch … undoubtedly
You’re not hungry? Maybe need
A new … recipe … or try again
And see … if … short-term-memory
Or bribery … overcomes adversity!

to that problem I have no answer…the need to be independent and do it for yourself or rely on others to feed you which takes away your ability to even try….. there are cups with spouts like small children have but I wonder if Mom has got to that point yet…and of course would she like it? You got a difficult problem there….

Mom sits and looks at the plate of food and the silverware and doesn’t have a clue what to do. It’s sad. She does wrap her hand around a cup and drink (I’ve even bought different sippy cups to help, but she doesn’t understand to suck etc. Mostly a spoon is her silverware, and it wallows in her hand. It’s so sad. She spits out lumps of food, so puree is what seems to work, she’s losing weight. Her hershey bars and milk are still her favorite foods. When sugar is added to some foods, she eats better. When I feed her, she eats over half, others not so much. Some staff are better at getting her to eat than others! It’s where we are!
