A journey in time with Alzheimer's

Face Down

You fell … again … hate those calls
My heart … skipped … a beat
But … you’re up and walking
The nurse says … on two feet
The car ride to the “place”
Gave me time “to think”
Were you wearing … non-skid socks?
Or shoes? … or maybe spilled a drink?
She said … you were scared
Didn’t know … why you fell
But … all around … the evidence
Showed … easy enough … to tell
Couldn’t have been … prevented
You wouldn’t … allow … help
Trying … to do … for self
You landed … face down … with a yelp!

  1. Such in independent spirit….what more can be said,? She is trying so hard to do things her way , without help. So when she fails… and falls…. she must feel deflated…Its a good thing that she was not injured but I cannot fault her for trying…you cannot keep a good spirit down
