Of new babies … Mom wound say
A piece of humanity … born today
Many kids … cared for … plus me
Housewife … mother … serendipity
Surely … there were hills to climb
Surely… time passed … too fast
Unselfish ways … your fate
Unkindness always had to wait
Always … said a prayer for me
Unpleasantness ‘n fear … did flee
And I for her … my whole life thru
Since leaving home … a long adieu
My heart … kept … running … back
Never … could I tarry … long
I grew stronger … years went by
Less time spent … asking why
Life catches you … by the hand
Throws you out … when unplanned
But thank you Jesus … right on time
Thru tears and grief … perfect … prime
I get to spend … time with Mother
A blessing for me … like no other!
