Suspicion threw her weight … today
Angry ‘n mad … doesn’t want to stay
Wants to go home … where she belongs
Keeping her here … just plain wrong
No way to reason … feels … betrayed
Pondering … way out … and … away
Alzheimer’s veil … lasts for hours
Emotionally pounded … enough said
Locked in her mind … my dread
Nothing works … distracting attention
Every word … brings … apprehension
Finally … kissed her head … adieu
Sorry Mom … I really … miss you
Can’t do this … today … futility
Slowly I leave … e.v.e.n.t.u.a.l.l.y.

Dear Sheila. How sad I feel for you. It is not a good situation to be in but my dear, there is nothing that you can do. There is nothing that will make things better or go away.It is a nasty , terrible illness where it is not just the patient who suffers but those nearest and dearest.
If I could wave my magic wand and make it all better for you..I would have one it by now. It is in God’s Hands…just hold on tight
love P

I hear you friend. I am always amazed how quickly her moods change. She spins! I appreciate your words of kindness. I’m o.k. It always helps to write a poem! I so appreciate you and all who give me encouragement! God Bless You!
