A journey in time with Alzheimer's

Stepping Stones

Going to your room … to the wood shed
I’m getting … a whipping … I know
Constantly asking, “why am I here”
You’re stuck in a rut … a plateau
You’re confused … half-way lucid
Puzzled … life’s … chain of events
I tread lightly … stay on dry ground
Stepping on stones … heaven … sent
My heart wants … a conversation
But it’s … all one-sided … for you
Tunneling down … aggravation
No answers but yours … will do
Humbly … I bow … to tomorrow
It’s merely … a whisper in time
A new day … is … dawning
But … I … know … this … day
Will … rewind.
