Why help her when she doesn’t want it
Why offer help when it’s not appreciated
Why make room when it’s unwelcome
Why keep someone safe when she wants gone
Why care whether someone is clean and fed
Why make sure plenty of Hershey’s and milk is in the refrigerator
Why make sure she takes her medications daily
Why stock stuff just for her
Why rearrange the bathroom for easy access
Why stay close all the time just for her
Why stay home and endure just for her
Why stay in tune to her needs
Why help her to help herself with the laundry
Why help her to do what she can for as long as she can
Why do I keep asking the same questions
WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?
Why? Because she’s my Mom , I love her and she has Alzheimer’s …THAT’S WHY!

…and because your Mom is so blessed to have you as her wonderful daughter, that’s why 🙂

Those are the things we do out of love. I believe God will have an extra big mansion in Heaven just for you, for all you’ve done and continue to do. I agree with Sherri – your mother truly is blessed to have you.
