You’re not sure why, but you’re angry
You’re remembering something new
There’s no way of knowing
Why you fret and stew.
There’s no question you want to be home
We’d all like that for you, that’s for sure
But, despite what you think, we must do what is right
To keep you safe and secure.
Breaks my heart to see you so sad
Partly from Alzheimer’s, I know
But there’s also a part that’s mad as can be
Because you can’t be where you want to go.
There’s no lessons of life to learn from this strife
Only do that which is needed to do
But I wonder why you won’t let it go
And just be happy…we love you so.
