A journey in time with Alzheimer's

Mind’s Eye

What is the meaning of mind’s eye
Why would you use such a phrase
Is it to help you think and ponder
Sounds like a trail or a maze.

Does it help align your thoughts in a row
Or does the phrase bring you relief
From the web your brain has woven
Untangling thoughts, loosening grief.

Some memories come back, for a time
They’re embraced and then must go
Takes energy to hold them tight
They slip away, like fog, in the night.

My query has no answer, it’s true
But in the end, it’s all about you
How you’re fighting to stay…
…  Alzheimer’s away.
