A journey in time with Alzheimer's

Dancing leaves change colors to the ground
They are a sign of autumn, floating all around.

My favorite time of year, it’s always been
Happy for the change, but sad for summer’s end.

I rake up the leaves and heap them in a pile
To celebrate and enjoy them more,  a  little while.

I’m thinking, wouldn’t it be nice
To save happy memories and enjoy them twice.

When a memory tries to slip away
Box it up to replay another day.

But memories are like fallen leaves on the ground
Must be enjoyed while they are still around.
